TELFORD WADO-RYU GRADING SYLLABUS

DAN GRADES

 

Juniors can grade for 1 st and 2 nd Dan only. Juniors grading for 1 st Dan may choose only one Ohyo gumite, Kihon gumite, and kata from the grading syllabus. Juniors grading for 2 nd Dan may choose as well only one Ohyo Gumite, Kihon Gumite, Kata and Tanto Dori.

A grading application fee of THIRTY POUNDS will be collected from all candidates prior to the examination. (Shodan 110.00 GBP, Nidan 120.00 GBP, Sandan 130.00GBP)

Kihon Tskui & Keri (Basic Techniques)

  1. Kette Junzuki
  2. Kette Gyakuzuki
  3. Kette Junzuki No Tsukkomi
  4. Kette Gyakuzuki No Tsukkomi
  5. Nagashizuki
  6. Mawashigeri Jodan
  7. Ushirogeri Chudan
  8. Surikomi Sokuto Jodan

Renraku Waza - Combination Techniques

  1. Hidari Hanmi Gammae: Evade Migi/Hidari, Ushiro ashi step forward, Migi uraken - Migi surikomi sokuto chudan - step back jodan nagashi uke - migi chudan hiza ten kao geri - Hidari makikomi jodan hiji uchi.
  2. Hidari hanmi Gammae: Hidari chudan and jodan renzuki - migi gyayuzuki chudan - hidari surikomi maegeri chudan - hidari nagashizuki jodan - migi spinning ashi barai - migi mawashigeri jodan - hidari maegeri gedan - mawashigeri jodan - migi gyakuzuki chudan.
  3. Hidari Hanmi Gammae: Hidari shootei jodan nagashi uki - hidari jodan uraken - sonobade mawate uraken chudan - gyaku uraken jodan renzuki waza - hidari side step backwards, migi hand jodan cover - hidari mawashigeri jodan - hadari ashi barai - migi gyakazuki chudan.

KATA

SHODAN: NAIHANCHI, CHINTO

NIDAN: JITTE, WANSHU

SANDAN: KUSHANKU, NISHEISHI

YONDAN: BASSAI and one chosen on exam day.
