ABOUT US - TELFORD WADO-RYU KARATE CLUBTelford Wado-Ryu was founded in July 1984. The Club grew under the instruction of Mike Salesman, one of the young British Lions of the 1980's Karate Team who along side the likes of Vic Charles, Geoff Thompson and Meryvn Ettienne became a highly decorated champion. Russell Baker - one of the original students, together with Jerome Hamilton and Michelle Honeywell, all black belts, now run the club which is affiliated to the UKKW and WIKF. The club focuses on traditional Wado-Ryu Karate including basic techniques, Kata (patterns), Kumite (sparing) and application of techniques in self defence, traditional Wado knife defence, plus lots more.
